THE EVENTS
Steve Low ’s Midwest Toyota-Scion presents the YMCA ’s 9th annual Maple Leaf Road Races.We are excited to be a part of the Oktoberfest celebration and look forward to providing you,our participants,the best running or walking experience possible. The proceeds from the Maple Leaf Road Races,which include the Johns, Flaherty &Collins/Jim Gokey Memorial Half-Marathon,the CenturyTel 5-Mile Run and the Festival Foods 5K Walk,will be used to support YMCA youth programs.

**Half Marathon runners MUST complete the course in less than 2 hours and 45 minutes due to the start of the Oktoberfest Maple Leaf Parade.  All supplies will be removed from the course after 9:45am.

REGISTRATION

Online registration and printable registration forms will available on April 15, 2008.  Online registration will close on Wednesday, September 24th at midnight.  All Registration closes on Friday, September 26th at 6pm - NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION.  Faxed or emailed registrations will NOT be accepted.

PACKET PICK UP

Friday, September 26:   Noon-6pm at the La Crosse YMCA, 1140 Main Street, La Crosse, WI

Saturday, September 27:   5:45am-race start at Riverside Park

THE RACE COURSE
Beginning in Riverside Park in downtown La Crosse,the courses follow the famous Oktoberfest Maple Leaf Parade route and finish in Riverside Park.They are flat,fast courses with an abundance of enthusiastic spectators cheering you on!

RESTRICTIONS

To ensure safety for all of those participating please note the following are not allowed on the courses: dogs, strollers, roller blades or skateboards.   

AID STATIONS
Aid Stations will be located along the race route to provide participants with water and Gatorade® sports drinks provided by Pepsi.  An energy gel will be provided to the half-marathon runners near mile 7.

FACILITIES

Bathrooms,showers and parking will be available at the La Crosse Area Family YMCA,1140 Main Street,which is ¾ of a mile from the starting point.  Downtown parking is available on a first-come,first-served basis.  Rest facilities will be available in Riverside Park and at the half marathon turn.

CHILD CARE
The La Crosse Area Family YMCA will provide child care beginning at 6:00 a.m.and throughout the Maple Leaf Road Races.If you need child care, please indicate on the registration form the number and the ages of the children you will be bringing.

THE FINISH LINE

All three events will finish in downtown La Crosse at Riverside Park near the Eagle statue. There will be a hospitality area near the finish line with food & beverages. 

Chip timing will be provided by White River Sports.  Timing chips will be handed out on Saturday, September 27 starting at 5:45am in Riverside Park next to the start/finish line.  Participants that do not return their timing chip after the event will be charged $100.

AWARDS
Awards will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female finishers overall in the half marathon and 5-mile run.  In addition, awards will be given to the 1st,2nd and 3rd place male and female finishers in each age category.  Presentation of awards will be at approximately 9:30 a.m. in Riverside Park. Awards not picked up on race day will be available for pick up starting 10/1 at the La Crosse YMCA.

Half Marathon Age Groups: 19 & under, 20-24, 25-20, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65+

5-Mile Run Age Groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65+

RIVER CITY RUNNING CLUB
Maple Leaf Road Races are a part of the River City Running Club Racing Challenge.For more information on RCRC go to their web site atwww.rivercityrunningclub.org

REFUND POLICY

Refunds will not be given for injuries, illnesses, schedule conflicts, inclement weather, etc.
