Communications Director-Full-Time Exempt

Join our director team at the La Crosse Area Family YMCA as our Communications Director and help strengthen our community by providing the leadership and insight needed to position the Y as a cause-driven, charitable organization.

This position will report to the Director of Mission Advancement and is a full time exempt position with a full benefits package and a free family Y membership.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Design and production of internal and external communication pieces
  • A leadership role with our four core fundraising events
  • Updating the association website
  • Ensuring consistent Y-USA brand messaging across all channels of communication
  • Gathering and sharing Y impact stories
  • Coordinating the association program guides


 

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field. Graphic design experience or knowledge and ability to use design software (preferably Adobe Design suite) is preferred
  • Outstanding skills in written/verbal communication, organization, collaboration, and interpersonal relations
  • Contract and budget management experience

Reach & Rise Mentoring Director-Full-Time Exempt

Join our director team at the La Crosse Area Family YMCA as our Reach & Rise Mentoring Director and help strengthen our community through leadership, oversight, and ongoing development and implementation of our Y's Reach and Rise Mentoring Program.

This program is a national YMCA program that helps youth and teens succeed by matching them one-on-one with adult mentors for 12 months. This is a full-time exempt position with a full benefits package and a free family Y membership.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Recruiting, training, and matching volunteers with youth and teens
  • Engaging with youth, adults, and the community
  • Managing risk
  • Ensuring uniformity of training curriculum, data collection, outcome objectives, and ongoing clinical support

Inclusion Specialist-Part-Time Plus

The La Crosse Area Family YMCA is currently hiring an Inclusion Specialist to lead and supervise our inclusion programs that are modified for individuals with disabilities. These programs include Miracle League Baseball, Soccer, Basketball, Fitness, Cycling, Swimming, Flag Football, Yoga, Dance, and Respite & Relaxation nights. Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Program Operations, the Inclusion Specialist should have experience in all aspects of working with children and adults with disabilities.

This is a part-time plus position working 35 hours per week, schedule varies depending on programs. This position offers health insurance benefits as well as a free adult Y membership.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, plan, administer and sustain all Inclusion and Adaptive programs
  • Recruit, develop, train and evaluate part-time coaches and volunteers
  • Assist in the development and management of the Inclusion Department budget
  • Develop and foster quality relationships with participants, families, employees, community members, and volunteers
  • Present to community clubs/organizations to build awareness of Miracle League and other Inclusive program opportunities
  • Support the organization's program directors in ensuring their programs are inclusive
  • Create a friendly, helpful and positive atmosphere for anyone visiting or calling the Y

 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in physical education, adapted physical education, therapeutic recreation or related field or three years of related experience

Member Service Night Lead-R.W. Houser Family YMCA
Help make a difference to our members and our guests as a full-time Member Service Night Lead at our Onalaska branch.

Be a part of a committed, motivated and focused group of kids on the Y's WAVE swim team as an Assistant Swim Team Coach.

Responsibilities:

  • Coaching young athletes of all ages and abilities
  • Assisting in running swim practices and swim meets under the direction of the Head Coach

Miracle League Baseball is an adapted baseball program for youth and adults with disabilities. The Miracle League Baseball Coach is a part-time position working evenings and weekends 6-8 hours per week at the R.W. Houser Family YMCA in Onalaska, WI.

We are currently looking for part-time staff for our wellness center at the Dahl Y in La Crosse and the Houser y Onalaska. These staff will help support the Y’s cause and our role in the community as a leader in Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.

We are seeking individuals that desire to teach early childhood classes focusing on a variety of different subjects.
