Group Mentoring Coordinator
Do you have a strong passion for working with youth? If so, the YMCA Reach and Rise Group Mentoring Program is looking for you!

We are looking for a cause driven leader to help youth reach their potential though engagement in our new group mentoring program. Primary duties include leading and implementing a group mentoring program; recruiting youth participants; recruiting, hiring and training volunteer mentors; and building relationships with volunteers, participants, parents and community partners.  This is a part-time position working 20 hours per week. Free adult Y membership included.

 

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience and passion for working with youth
  • Experience supervising employees or volunteers preferred
  • Must have or be working toward a masters degree in mental health counseling or social work

Food Service Staff-Teen Center

Now seeking knowledgeable, caring, energetic, positive, friendly, creative, compassionate, organized, and community-minded parkour coaches to teach in our state-of-the-art training facility.  Instructors will develop relationship building, teaching, coaching, class management, and leadership skills.  We are looking for 3 or 4 coaches to join our staff. These coaches may work anywhere between 1-6 days a week, hours will vary, nights and weekends too.

Summer Day Camp Counselors-Full-Time and Part-Time Openings
We are looking for motivated and responsible role models that are passionate about positively engaging with youth in an active, outdoor environment.

Our YMCA Summer Day Camp Counselors go above and beyond to create and implement programming that will ensure our campers feel safe, successful, and have a strong sense of belonging all summer long.   Each staff person will work as part of a dynamic team to provide quality supervision and guidance through daily adventures to pools, parks, and other destinations throughout the community.

 

These full-time and part-time seasonal positions will start June 5th with summer training beginning Monday, May 22nd.

 

Candidates must be 18 years old.  College credits related to child development and experience working with kids is preferred.  All qualified candidates must be a positive role model and enjoy working with kids.

 

Normal scheduled hours run Monday - Friday 6 am - 6 pm.

Youth Sports Coaches Part-Time Openings

Our Y is always looking for individuals to help coach in all of our different youth sport programs throughout the year. Coaches are needed for our Dahl Family YMCA in La Crosse and R.W. Houser Family YMCA in Onalaska and Holmen programs.

 

Candidates should be enthusiastic, motivating, and able to relate well to young children. Personal Trainer

Personal trainers are responsible for the development and incorporation of training programs for members of the Y. The trainer provides accurate fitness information, plans effective programs, and addresses participant’s questions. Personal trainers’ possess the ability to motivate participants at all skill and fitness levels, along with the ability to identify incorrect lifting techniques and how to correct the individual. The trainer is also responsible for all scheduling of clients and tracking accurate records of client’s attendance and payment history. Trainers must have excellent communication skills, have a nationally recognized Personal Training Certification, adult and child CPR/AED and First Aid Certification, a plus to have YMCA Fitness Assessment Certification or experience in this area, and a preferred degree in exercise science, fitness, or related field. The La Crosse Area Family YMCA Child Care center at our Houser Y in Onalaska is seeking positive, team oriented professionals to serve as part time assistant teachers. Job duties include overseeing departure of children, greeting parents, playing with children and the cleaning and set up responsibilities at the end of the night.  Hours are available Monday through Friday at a variety of times. Fitness Instructors

We are looking for certified fitness instructors to lead many of our different fitness classes offered at the Y some of them include: Zumba®, Pilates, Yoga, Group Cycling, Boot Camp, Step Aerobics, Cardio Kickboxing, and/or Water Exercise classes. Instructors must have group exercise certification through a nationally recognized and/or accredited organization (YMCA of the USA, ACE, AFAA, ACSM, etc.) and also understand the basic principles of group exercise, including strength training, cardiovascular fitness, heart rate and perceived exertion scales, and flexibility training. Other requirements include the ability to teach a well planned group exercise class on own and be able to spot incorrect form and correct the individual.
