The
La Crosse Area Family YMCA is looking for life guard/swim instructors
for our La Crosse branch. Responsibilities include ensuring the health
and safety of all participants in the pool area by preventing and responding
to emergencies. Swim instructors will be responsible for the health
and safety of all participants in the pool area while at the same time
guiding participants through swimming skills. Available hours include
morning and early afternoon shifts working 10 or more hours per week.

The La Crosse Area Family YMCA is looking for fun, motivated, flexible role models to work part time with children in the School Age Child Care Program. Shifts run before and after school at elementary schools in La Crosse, Holmen and Onalaska. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work, modeling and appraising performance, addressing concerns, and solving problems. Site Directors are expected to provide support and encouragement to other staff in fulfilling their job responsibilities. Transport materials, snacks and paperwork between the YMCA and program site. After School Site Manager – Part Time
The La Crosse Area Family YMCA is currently looking for a part time after school site manager to manage the after school program in Viroqua Mon.-Fri. 20-25 hours per week. Responsibilities include hiring, supervising, training and evaluating school age staff; program planning and relationship building. The La Crosse Area Family YMCA is currently looking for a part time dance instructor to teach beginner-intermediate level Hip Hop, Jazz, Ballet, and Tap dance classes at the North YMCA branch. Wellness Center Coordinator - La Crosse
The La Crosse Area Family YMCA is currently looking for a Wellness Center Coordinator to work in our La Crosse branch Wellness Center. Responsibilities include serving as the main front line staff person in the Wellness Center, assist in recruiting, training, and evaluating Wellness Center, Personal Training, and Fitness Assessment staff; managing all other Personal Trainers and the organizational structure behind the program; serving as a Head Trainer; recruit and train staff for our teen strength training class; and assist in creative programming for the Wellness Center to attract members of all ages. Qualifications include Adult and Child CPR/AED and First Aid; preferred nationally recognized Personal Training certification; preferred YMCA Fitness Assessment Certification or Fitness Assessment experience; preferred degree (or degree in process) in exercise science, fitness, or related field; Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; the ability to communicate effectively with staff members, volunteers, participants, and members; ability to show a high standard of knowledge and application of listening/communicating, relationship building and health/fitness/wellness skills; and the ability to be a problem solver and make good decisions quickly and efficiently. Adult Dodgeball League Referees
The La Crosse Area Family YMCA is looking for energetic, flexible, firm, but fair adult dodge ball league referees to ref adult teams on Sundays. Refs must be able to make calls and deal with confrontation on the spot. Refs must also be somewhat knowledgeable in the sport and able to make calls as they see them. The Season begins Sunday Sept. 14 and goes through Sunday November 2, 2008. Games are located at the YMCA North in Onalaska (gym). Basketball Coaches
The La Crosse Area Family YMCA is looking for energetic, creative, and fun basketball coaches to lead our 1st-4th graders through a successful basketball season. Coaches must be able to conduct their own practices and keep kids moving for one hour. Coaches must be knowledgeable in the sport and able to demonstrate and teach the fundamental skills of basketball hands on as well as explain rules and positions on the court in order for kids to learn. The season begins November 3, 2008 – Mid February 2009. Locations: YMCA North (gym), Holmen School District (Evergreen Elementary gym and Sand lake Elementary gym), Onalaska School District (Irving Pertzsch Elementary gym, Eagle Bluff, and Northern Hills TBD) Times: varies from 3:30 – 8:00 p.m. with hour practices.

Flag Football Coaches
Responsibilities include coaching youth flag football either grades 1 & 2 or grades 3 & 4. Organizing and administering practices as well as games. Coaches needed for multiple locations including, French Island, Holmen, La Crosse, and Onalaska. Every coach needs to be able to travel to all of those locations. There will be one practice during the week for one hour and one game on Saturday mornings for one hour. Dates are the week of Sept 15-week of Oct 20th. Friday Night Live Coordinator
The La Crosse Area Family YMCA is currently looking for a Coordinator to market and manage the YMCA La Crosse Friday Night Life program. Other responsibilities include managing and recruiting volunteers for the program. Friday Night Live is a program that takes place on the 2nd Friday of every month from 8-10pm. It is a free program for area Middle School Students. Coordinator would recruit attendees as well as plan events and activities for the kids to do. Candidates must be self-motivated, organized, reliable, have good problem solving skills and be flexible. This is a part time position working up to five hours per week, one day a week. The La Crosse Area Family YMCA is looking for youth soccer coaches to conduct clinic style soccer practices for children aged 4-6. There will be up to 32 kids with 3-4 other coaches. Coaches will be in charge of teaching one skill to 4 different groups. Clinic takes place at YMCA-North and State Road Elementary. Coaches can teach at both sites or one.
