ACTIVE
OLDER ADULTS (AOA)
(Free for members)
The
YMCA’s AOA program offers older adults a variety of classes designed
to enhance strength, balance, coordination, and social well-being and
activities of daily living. Our program offers (see our AOA monthly
calendar for class offerings and times):
Silver
Sneakers Land Based Exercise:
This class features segments of low-impact aerobics, muscle conditioning
and stretching. Range of motion, balance and coordination are also areas
that are emphasized.
AOA
Water Exercise: Less impact means more comfort…exercise
in the water to increase range of motion, flexibility and muscular strength
and endurance.
Silver Sneakers YogaStretch:
Clear your mind, stretch your muscles and treat your spirit, mind and
body to some quiet time. The focus is on stretching, range of motion,
balance, relaxation and breathing.
Regularly
scheduled social activities make meeting new people
easy and fun.
Monthly AOA newsletter provides
helpful information about the YMCA, our programs and various health
and fitness topics.
