CONSTRUCTION UPDATES AND PHOTOS
2021/2022 Capital Projects
November 10, 2022
Dear Y Members,
I am pleased to provide all of you with an update on the construction projects at our Ys. First, thank you all for your continued patience and understanding as we work through these construction projects.
Dahl Y Construction Update
At our recent construction meeting, we learned a few things about the remaining work that needs to happen in the female locker room, the aquatic offices, and the new aquatic training room. Here are some details:
- The new steam room and sauna at the Dahl Y opened last week and we are thrilled to have these new spaces available for members.
- The Dahl construction project was delayed by a few months while our locker room plans were reviewed by the State of Wisconsin Department of Safety & Professional Services (Pool Reviewers). Following their review, the state is requiring us to install additional floor drains throughout the new female locker room.
- The good news is that we recently secured the required approvals so that our project can get back on track.
- Work on the project began again last week and we expect the female locker room, lower-level offices, aquatic offices, and aquatic training room will be completed by late February. If the timeframe improves, we will be sure to keep you updated.
- As a reminder, once the female locker room is completed, we will open that space to our female members, and the current Universal Locker Room (the temporary female locker room), will open to serve families, members wishing for additional privacy, and members visiting the Y with a caregiver.
- As we continue to learn more about the construction timeline, we will be issuing an update to our members in an effort to keep everyone informed.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Bill Soper
