Summer School Age Care Leaders – Temporary Full Time Openings

At the Y and in our school age care program we strengthen community through youth development because we believe that a community is stronger when children are given opportunities to grow and thrive. As a part of our summer school age staff team you will help nurture all children by supporting them in everything they do. This full time position will start May 20th – Aug. 23rd, with paid summer training the last two weeks in May and first week in June. 


You will help provide opportunities for physical activity and healthy eating, as well as build relationships with families and be a strong role model. We are looking for motivated staff that are passionate about working with kids and are willing to go above and beyond and take initiative to lead activities and build relationships. Staff will plan and lead themed weeks for children 5-12 as well as supervise weekly field and visits to the pool. 

Qualifications include:

  • Strong verbal communications
  • Education and experience in early childhood is preferred
  • CPR/AED/First Aid

Join the Y’s Child Care Center Team, which is located at our R.W. Houser Family YMCA in Onalaska, as a full-time Infant Teacher. This is a full-time hourly position working Monday – Friday 40 hours per week. Full benefits package included plus a free family Y membership. 

 

The wage for this role starts at $14.00

 

Responsibilities:

  • Promote youth development through a hands on learning environment
  • Provide children with opportunities to develop early language and motor skills through age-appropriate play and activities
  • Build relationships with families and the staff team

 

Key Qualifications:

 

  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Early Childhood or related education coursework 
  • Education & experience in early childhood a plus
  • State of Wisconsin Early Childhood Teaching license a plus but not required

These positions also include a free family YMCA membership, 50% discount on all YMCA programs, 100% discount on all school-age care, 20% discount on full-time childcare as well as a full benefits package.

 

The wage for this role is $12 per hour. 

Responsibilities:

  • Creating a welcoming, helpful, and positive atmosphere for anyone visiting the Y
  • Connect members to resources within the Y in order to foster success in their health and wellness goals 
  • Training new member service staff
  • Processing program registrations
  • Providing tours of the facility
  • Greet all members in a friendly, welcoming and respectful manner

This is a part-time position available at our La Crosse Dahl YMCA.

Personal trainers are responsible for the development and incorporation of training programs for members of the Y. The trainer provides accurate fitness information, plans effective programs, and addresses participant’s questions. Personal trainers’ possess the ability to motivate participants at all skill and fitness levels, along with the ability to identify incorrect lifting techniques and how to correct the individual. The trainer is also responsible for all scheduling of clients and tracking accurate records of client’s attendance and payment history.

 

Key Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills
  • National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) nationally recognized Personal Training Certification such as NSCA, ACSM, NASM or ACE
  • Adult and child CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
  • YMCA Fitness Assessment Certification or experience in this area is a plus
  • Degree in exercise science, fitness, or related field is preferred
