Member Service Representative- Onalaska

Make a difference to our members in our community as a Part-Time Member Services at the Onalaska Family YMCA branch. We have 2-3 positions open working a minimum of 12 – 25 hours per week with an occasional weekend. There is the flexibility to work 8:30 am – 1:00 pm or 4 pm – 8:00 pm as desired. These positions also include a free adult membership to both of our local Y branches.  

Responsibilities:

  • Greet all members in a friendly, welcoming and respectful manner
  • Build relationships by using names and initiating conversations with all members, staff, volunteers and guests
  • Check in all members and guests
  • Assist guests and members with setting up memberships and registration
  • Act as a positive role model while implementing YMCA character develop and following the four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility

Key Qualifications:

Director of Business Services-Winona YMCA

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees the business functions and human resources for the organization
  • Processing payroll
  • Bookkeeping functions such as AR/AP and monthly/annual reports
  • Human Resources related functions include job postings, benefits, personnel files, workers’ compensation and other Human Resources related functions

 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or human resources or related field with at least two or more years of experience in bookkeeping, AP/AR and/or human resources
  • Proficient in Excel spreadsheets, high level of confidentiality and emotional maturity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; along with excellent problem solving, organizational and multi-tasking skills

Fitness Instructors - Part Time

We are looking for certified fitness instructors to lead the following fitness exercise classes: ZUMBA®, Water Exercise, Senior Chair-Based Classes & a Spin Cycling Instructor. Our instructors will work with all fitness levels in our fitness classes at the Y in a sincere and positive manner. These are part-time positions at our La Crosse or Onalaska branch and would include a free adult Y membership (dependent on hours worked or the number of classes taught.)

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

· Strong verbal communication skills

· Ability to teach a well-planned group exercise class

· Ability to spot incorrect form and correct the individual

· Group Fitness Instructor Certification (YMCA of the USA, ACE, AFAA, ACSM, etc.)  Personal Trainer Certification OR B.S. in Exercise Sports Science

· Understand the basic principles of group exercise, including strength training, cardiovascular fitness, heart rate, and perceived exertion scales and flexibility training.

Community Nutrition Assistant - Part Time

The La Crosse Area Family YMCA is currently hiring a Community Nutrition Assistant to assist our Community Nutrition Director in the planning, coordination, and implementation of the YMCA’S community nutrition programs. This is a part-time position working 10 – 20 hours per week. We are seeking open availability on Mondays and Tuesdays but would be flexible to other scheduling during the work-week. This position receives a free adult YMCA membership.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in making a difference in our community by helping youth to have continuous access to healthy meals.
  • Develop and foster quality relationships with participants, families, community members and fellow coworkers.
  • Assist Community Nutrition Director in the planning, coordination, and implementation of the YMCA’s food programs throughout the La Crosse community. Programs throughout

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Food service experience and/or Serve Safe training is preferred but not required

We are looking for cause-driven leaders to help teens reach their potential through engagement in positive activities such as art, music, tutoring, and community service projects and much more.  This is a part-time position where hours are Monday through Friday 3 pm – 9 pm and Saturday 12pm-4pm working 10-15 hours per week.

 

Primary Duties:

  • Supervising and working with teens that use the teen center
  • Leading activities and being a positive role model for youth

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience working with youth.

The La Crosse Area Family YMCA is seeking a highly motivated, visionary team member who can contribute to the School Age Department at our Y. This position will oversee multiple before and after school & summer programs throughout the La Crosse area.  Candidates for this position must have strong relationship building and leadership skills, a passion for working with school-age children and their families as well as being highly innovative. This is a full-time exempt position working 40+ hours per week with a full benefits package including a free family Y membership.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and lead multiple staff teams through structured trainings
  • Ensure risk management and safety policies are in place and implemented for all school-age programming including state childcare licensing guidelines
  • Seek out information from school leaders and families to ensure we are meeting our community’s needs

Job Duties:

  • Light cleaning of the facility including sweeping, cleaning lobby and other areas of the facility as needed
  • Washing and drying towels as needed and making sure towels are provided to the necessary areas of the facility
  • Program set up and take down as needed for programs and special events
  • Emergency cleanup such as bodily fluids
  • Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment
