Be a part of an organization that families entrust every day to care for their infant to preschool children and become part of a staff team that is committed and passionate about the Y’s mission and cause to strengthen our community. Join our Child Care Center as our Assistant Early Childhood Center Director.

Responsibilities include working closely with the Center Director on a day to day basis and communicating with families and teachers. Assist in day to day center operations including staff scheduling, enrollment of children, maintaining staff files, food program management, and administrative tasks related to licensing compliance, assist with curriculum implementation, and supply ordering. This full-time exempt position includes a full benefits package including a free family Y membership and is located at our Houser Y branch in Onalaska, WI.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Qualified candidates must have Early Childhood or related education coursework
  • Leadership experience in early childhood a plus
  • CPR/First Aid CPR Certification within 30 days of hire
  • SIDS and Shaken Baby syndrome training
  • Maintain 25 hours of continuing education in accordance with the State of WI Group Childcare Licensing Regulations
  • Strong verbal communication skills and a high level of organization skills
  • Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations
  • Microsoft Office and Google applications.

Property Manager

This position will manage the maintenance and upkeep of the Houser property (Onalaska Y) consisting of a 115,000 square feet YMCA, soccer fields, baseball diamond, and green spaces. This is a full-time hourly position working 40 hours per week and includes a full benefits package including a free-family YMCA membership and a 12% retirement plan after two years of service. This position reports to the Director of Facilities. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and oversee the plumbing, equipment, lighting, electrical, natatorium, fire alarm systems, and preventative maintenance programs. 
  • Provide excellent interpersonal, professionalism and communication skills to all colleagues and members. 
  • Utilized Microsoft Office and GoogleSuite for day-to-day business activities. 
Candidates must have two years of advanced education or 3+ years of experience in a related field; a valid driver's license with a good driving record; a positive attitude; good communication skills; team player and professional; enjoy being around people; reliable and adaptable; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; a broad range of technical skills to include troubleshooting of electrical systems; HVAC, plumbing, and boiler operations.

We are currently looking for part-time staff for our wellness center at the Dahl Y in La Crosse. These staff will help support the Y’s cause and our role in the community as a leader in Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. 

These are part-time positions working 3-4 hour shifts 2-4 times per week. Free adult Y membership included dependent on the number of hours worked. This position is scheduled to start on January 28th.

Key Responsibilities:

Job Duties:

  • Light cleaning of the facility including sweeping, cleaning lobby and other areas of the facility as needed
  • Washing and drying towels as needed and making sure towels are provided to the necessary areas of the facility
  • Program set up and take down as needed for programs and special events
  • Emergency cleanup such as bodily fluids
  • Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment
