Hours and Locations:

  • Positions begin in September, Monday-Friday up to 25 hours a week.
  • Can work two shifts a day: 6:10-8:10 a.m. and 3:00-6:00 p.m. 
  • School Age Program Leaders will work on-site at elementary schools in the La Crosse, Onalaska, and Holmen areas. 

Are you passionate about fitness and helping others reach their goals? Join the Y staff team as an Active Older Adult Fitness Instructor! We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to teach Water Exercise, Chair Yoga, Basic Strength Training and other low-impact fitness classes. This is a part time position working 2-10 hours per week depending on availability; ideal availability includes weekdays between 7am and 3pm.

This is a part-time position with openings at the Onalaska branch and is open to female and male trainers. 

Personal trainers are responsible for the development and incorporation of training programs for members of the Y. The trainer provides accurate fitness information, plans effective programs, and addresses participant’s questions. Personal trainers possess the ability to motivate participants at all skill and fitness levels, along with the ability to identify incorrect lifting techniques and how to correct the individual. The trainer is also responsible for all scheduling of clients and tracking accurate records of client’s attendance and payment history.

Key Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills
  • National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) nationally recognized Personal Training Certification such as NSCA, ACSM, NASM or ACE

Our search continues for a family & youth coordinator to help assist the community family & youth director in working with youth and families to provide integrated supports designed to keep children and youth out of the criminal justice system, mentally healthy, safe from abuse, and neglect, and fully engaged in Y programs and activities.
