Personal trainers are responsible for the development and incorporation of training programs for members of the Y. The trainer provides accurate fitness information, plans effective programs, and addresses participants’ questions. Personal trainers possess the ability to motivate participants at all skill and fitness levels, along with the ability to identify incorrect lifting techniques and how to correct the individual. The trainer is also responsible for all scheduling of clients and tracking accurate records of clients’ attendance and payment history.

Key Qualifications

  • National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) nationally recognized Personal Training Certification such as NSCA, ACSM, NASM or ACE

  • Lifeguard Certification, Group Fitness Instructor Certification, Personal Trainer Certification OR B.S. in Exercise Sports Science or related field (or in the process of completing)
  • Strong communication skills
  • No experience necessary. Willing to mentor the right candidate

Responsibilities:
• Enforce rules and guidelines for the Wellness Center
• Assist members in using equipment correctly
• Spot members while using equipment when necessary

Key Qualifications:
• Strong verbal communications skills
•A background in fitness, strength training, physical education,  recreation, or related field
• The ability to lift up to 50lbs

Hours:

  • Flexible and based on availability
  • La Crosse Hours: Mon. & Wed. 4:55 pm – 9:10 pm. Mon. & Tue. 12:55 pm – 5 pm. Weekend shifts also available. 

Are you passionate about fitness and helping others reach their goals? Join the Y staff team as a Yoga Instructor! We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to teach a variety of Yoga classes including but not limited to Vinyasa Flow, Restorative Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Yoga Sculpt/Strength, and Chair Yoga.   • Nationally Accredited Yoga Certification
  • CPR, First Aid, AED Certification
