Openings available at the R.W. Houser Family YMCA in Onalaska and the Dahl Family YMCA in La Crosse, WI. The available hours to work are listed below:

  • Monday through Friday:  7:50 am – 12:00 pm OR 3:50 pm – 7:00 pm

Primary Duties:

  • Promote youth development through a hands-on learning environment
  • Provide children with opportunities to develop early language and motor skills through age-appropriate play and activities
  • Build relationships with families and the staff team

Key Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of past experience working with children infant to age 7.

These are part-time positions available at both the Dahl Family YMCA in La Crosse and the R.W. Houser Family YMCA in Onalaska. There are opportunities to work 3-10 hours per week; morning, evening, & weekend.

Are you passionate about fitness and helping others reach their goals? If so, join the Y as our NEW Fitness Coordinator. This is a part-time position working 20-25 hours per week. 
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Assist fitness director as needed in day-to-day operations of fitness. 
  • Assist in developing, implementing, sustaining, growing, and adapting fitness classes on-site for the association for all ages. 
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of and participation in fitness programs. 
  • Assist with group fitness class coverage as needed. 
Qualifications: 
  • Background and experience teaching group exercise classes
  • Group fitness certification through a nationally recognized and/or accredited organization (YUSA, ACE, AFAA, ACSM, etc.)

This is a part-time position with openings at the La Crosse and Onalaska branches and is open to female and male trainers. 

Personal trainers are responsible for the development and incorporation of training programs for members of the Y. The trainer provides accurate fitness information, plans effective programs, and addresses participant’s questions. Personal trainers possess the ability to motivate participants at all skill and fitness levels, along with the ability to identify incorrect lifting techniques and how to correct the individual. The trainer is also responsible for all scheduling of clients and tracking accurate records of client’s attendance and payment history.

Key Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills
  • National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) nationally recognized Personal Training Certification such as NSCA, ACSM, NASM or ACE
  • Adult and child CPR/AED and First Aid Certification

Responsibilities: 
  • Assist wellness center director as needed in day-to-day operations of the wellness center. 
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Y’s Personal Trainers at both Y branches. 
  • Work on the wellness center floor as needed.
  • Maintain two personal training sessions weekly. 
  • Work closely with the healthy living center staff to engage and connect clients with Y programs & membership.

If you’re serious about developing youth through sport, we invite you to join our passionate team of coaches.

Our youth sports coaches impact participants through character development and positive competition. Our Y is always looking for individuals to help coach and referee in all of our different youth sports programs throughout the year. We are currently seeking summer help as we transition into the new season.

These positions are needed for the Dahl Family YMCA and R.W. Houser Family YMCA in La Crosse, Onalaska and Holmen programs. Some of these programs may be held off-site.

YOUTH SPORTS COACHES NEEDED:

Candidates should be enthusiastic, motivating, and able to relate well to young children. Some knowledge and experience playing organized sports are beneficial. These are part-time positions working 3-20 hours per week.

  • Ensures Y facility and property is secure during shift and reports incidents and hazardous conditions to Environmental Technician Director and Director of Facilities

  • Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use

Join the Y as a full-time AmeriCorps as our Volunteer Coordinator! You will be assisting the Y in our overall coordination of volunteer opportunities at the Y. 
 
Responsibilities: 
Recruit, hire, and train volunteers for identified departments
Motivate, engage, and coach volunteers
Develop a list of annual volunteer projects for volunteer groups
Prepare and administer all volunteer policies, forms and tracking requirements

The Y is currently looking for a family & youth coordinator to help assist the community family & youth director in working with youth and families to provide integrated supports designed to keep children and youth out of the criminal justice system, mentally healthy, safe from abuse, and neglect, and fully engaged in Y programs and activities. This position will be based out of our Dahl-Y branch in La Crosse. This is a full-time exempt position working 40+ hours per week which may include some nights and weekends.   • Scheduling, supervision, and mgt. of prime time center staff.
