The School Age program at the Y will continue to prioritize your child’s safety and our support for local school district COVID-related protocols; as the new school year approaches, SAC Directors will communicate more specific information to those who are enrolled in this program. Please review all the information included in the following paragraphs as a few things have changed.

The safety of the children, staff, and families has always been and will continue to be our priority as we look ahead to the next school year. In order to ensure the continuation of childcare, we know there are simple yet critical preventative steps we can take to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. The School Age Staff and participants will follow the safety guidelines that each district is currently using as it is communicated by the school district. WE WILL CONTINUE:
  • frequent disinfection and handwashing
  • Monitoring participants who arrive with or develop any covid-like symptoms while attending programming. Families will be contacted to pick-up immediatley.

As schools implement safety protocols specific to the mitigation of covid and other diseases as they occur in our community, the School Age Program will no longer be providing discounted rates for children unable to attend care due to illness. Beginning September 1st, all participants will be charged for the month of care on the first of that month. All early release programming, days off from school, and alternate school scheduling has been factored into the price of before and after school programs for the 2022/2023 school year; billing adjustments will only be made in extreme circumstances that affect the La Crosse area community at large.

Kids Day Off Registration information will be communicated to registered families when it becomes available.
Families who are currently enrolled in this program are allowed an opportunity to register for additional days of care for Non-School days.  These Kid’s Day Off dates offered will cover most of the non-school days in the La Crosse, Onalaska, and Holmen School Districts.   Due to limited availability, enrollment for these dates is not guaranteed.

The School Age Program creates a space for social and emotional learning which will have a positive impact on mental health and social skills.

Our caring staff team follows all state licensing standards while nurturing the potential of every child. Daily activities include structured physical activities, social and emotional learning activities,  as well as an afternoon snack with fresh fruit and vegetables.
