OUR PURPOSE

The Y is the leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community by connecting all people to their potential, purpose and each other. Working locally, we focus on supporting young people, improving health and well-being, and inspiring action in and across communities. By bringing together people from different backgrounds, perspectives and generations, we ensure that we all have access to the opportunities, relationships and resources necessary to learn, grow and thrive.

At the La Crosse Area Family YMCA, more than 600 staff members serve in a wide variety of positions within our two YMCA branches, at 17 off-site school-age child care programs, and our community teen center. We invite you to join us in this amazing work. Experience the personal satisfaction that comes from nurturing the potential of youth and teens, improving our community’s health and well-being and providing support to our neighbors.

OUR CULTURE

Our mission and core values are brought to life by our culture. We strive to live our cause of strengthening communities with purpose and intention every day.

We are welcoming and we are open to all. We are a place where you can belong and become.

We are genuine: we value you and embrace your individuality.

We are hopeful: we believe in you and your potential to become a catalyst in the world.

We are nurturing: we support you in your journey to develop your full potential.

We are determined: above all else, we are on a relentless quest to make our community stronger beginning with you.
