As a sports enthusiast, I have played and tried almost every sport there is!  I love pushing my body to the limits and learning how the body works and adapts to different modes of exercise.  I want to help others find passion in physical activity not only for physique but also for most importantly to help your mental state.  I believe working out should be fun and challenging at the same time.  Seeing my clients achieve their long and short-term goals gives me a sense of accomplishment; it is my happy placeJ.  I want to encourage, help, and inspire my clients to live active, healthy lives so they can take advantage of life and not let anything hold them back.  Join me to take this step on our journey!

As many trainers have, I found a love for fitness at a very young age. Playing multiple sports in high school and college, I developed a desire to challenge myself physically and mentally after my days of organized athletics had come to an end. I joined the YMCA as a member in 2015 and immediately fell in love with resistance and cardiorespiratory training and the satisfaction of pushing my body and mind to their limits.

I have experience working with cardiac rehab patients, college athletes, and individuals returning from physical therapy, among other populations. I, myself, have a condition called degenerative disc disease, and I have used this diagnosis to become a better-equipped personal trainer. I pride myself on being able to work with and around numerous orthopedic limitations, especially back pain. If you are looking for some guidance to put on muscle, lose weight, or to just move better, then I would love to train with you!

Like most personal trainers I have been active my whole life but as I transitioned into training as an adult I began to appreciate how physical activity is not just a pursuit for the body but for the mind. I have always wanted to help people become the best version of themselves and help them achieve their goals in some fashion.  Over the last two years when people were separated from others and from physical activity to some extent, I realized how important physical activity is not just for the body but also for mental health and enjoying life to its fullest in every aspect. Knowing this I just wanted to help others by having a positive impact on helping them achieve their personal goals in life. I have past experience working with varying populations including kids with disabilities, active older adults, and more competitive CrossFit athletes. Some of my personal favorite activities include powerlifting, kayaking, and playing basketball.

Fitness has been a part of my life longer than I can remember.  My family and I were always outside playing games, riding bikes, gardening, etc. and my appreciation and passion for fitness has only increased as I have grown.  I continued my love for fitness and athletics through college with a fitness degree and competing in Track & Field at UW-Eau Claire.  Today, I continue to stay active by spending time outdoors hiking and biking with friends and family.  Success comes from within and I am here to help you reach your full potential.

Let’s make this year a healthy one 🙂

Starting in high school, I used fitness as a way to be social and hang out with friends. Since then, it has become a fully developed passion and an integral part of my life. While not competing in athletics after high school, I still prefer to train like an athlete. Outside of working out, I enjoy being outside doing things like hiking and disc golfing. I currently attend UW-La Crosse and pursuing a degree in exercise science.

I am excited to help you on your fitness journey.

Sports have been a big part of my life since I was about 5 years old. I had the privilege to play multiple sports until I decided soccer and basketball were my two favorites. I was short and skinny which was not a great combination for sports (especially basketball). Once I started doing proper weight lifting, I saw improvements in my athleticism (as well as larger muscles too). I realized that weight training could take my strengths to greater heights while also improving my athletic/genetic shortcomings. This is why I chose to become a personal trainer. As a personal trainer, I can help guide you to achieve your personalized goals. No two people are the same and that’s what makes personal training fun and dynamic.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing soccer, basketball, and exercising here in the YMCA Wellness Center. I am also a Junior High Soccer Coach at La Crescent High School during the fall season.

I grew up with 5 brothers, so one could say that my fitness journey began competing with them.

I have always enjoyed sports, and as a 3 sport athlete I never had to think about “fitness” – it was just a part of my life.  After graduation from college, I had extra time and money, so it was easy to stay active mountain biking, kayaking, etc.  Then I got married and started having kids…1, 2,…6!  As a busy Mom of 6, I had to make more of a deliberate effort to set aside time and money for my health.  I have learned from my own personal trainer that fitness can be effective, efficient and fun!  I have been a coach of various sports over the years, a phy-ed teacher, and now a group fitness instructor and personal trainer at the Y.  I am excited to work with members of all abilities to achieve their fitness goals – helping you move better and live your life to the fullest!

It is my belief that workouts should be fun, as well as challenging and productive.

As of 10 years ago, due to poor lifestyle choices, I was 280 lbs with chronic plantar fasciitis.  Making the decision to begin exercising has led me on a path of passion for a healthier lifestyle.  This passion increasingly and consistently allows me to enjoy life with a happy and positive attitude!

I would be honored to guide, mentor, and motivate you in achieving the same!  Whether we need to make small changes to your fitness routine, create a completely new workout regimen, or begin the first step to a healthier lifestyle.

Let’s discuss your fitness goals, and the lifestyle adjustments that I can assist you in making for a happier and healthier you!

My name is Sebastian Hatch and I’m finishing up my last semester in pursuit of a degree in exercise and sports science.  I remember when I first started going to the gym in early middle school.  Initially it was both exciting and intimidating looking around and not knowing where to start.

For a few years I drifted around doing random workout programs and not seeing any results.  Most of the time I’d just walk out of the gym feeling aches and pains rather than feeling accomplished.  It wasn’t until I took a step back to develop proper technique and adequate mobility that I really started to look and feel better.  As a result, I’m a big believer in training for the aesthetics and functionality.  I saw the greatest changes in my body and my performance as an athlete when I started asking myself how what I do in the gym will affect what I do outside of it.  That could mean training for a sport (in my case martial arts) or training to improve how we move and feel in everyday lift.  This idea of training to be strong, functional, and athletic is the cornerstone of why I chose to become a trainer.  As a personal trainer, I can help you achieve your own personalized goals and develop proper technique, so you feel confident working out in the gym.

Some of my hobbies include hiking, boxing, Jui Jitsu, and weightlifting.
