Fitness has always been an integral part of my life, especially relating to sports. A variety of sports allowed me to be active from a very young age, and I loved it all. In college, I began to take the weight room side of athletics more seriously and became infatuated with resistance training and the numerous positive effects it can have on one’s body and wellbeing. Not everyone benefits from the same type of training.  It is my priority to work with you to find a training style that fits you. Hope to see you soon!

Physical, mental, and emotional health are all interrelated.  By working on our physical health, we can improve our mental and emotional health.  My goal is to improve functionality in order to enhance overall wellness.  No matter where we are at, we can always make progress and better ourselves.

Personally, my improvements with exercise have led to increased self-confidence as well as more energy throughout the day.  I went from 240 pounds down to 170 on my journey; this loss of weight was a turning point in my life, which has only motivated me to continue learning and staying active in new ways.  I hope to help others learn a little more about exercise and motivate them to continue on their journey and reach their own personal goals.

Well the first thing you should know about me is that I was born in Stevens Point but grew up all around the country.  My father was in the Navy so we pretty much moved every year.  Being an identical twin made the process a lot easier since we both liked sports and were very social.  Things I love to do in my off time consist of social gatherings in any environment, video games, or hiking.  I am as much of a nerd as a workout junkie, feel free to talk to me about LOTR or Star Wars at any point and time!  I am very excited to be a part of the YMCA family and I very much look forward to meeting everyone and helping members achieve their goals!  I specialize in lean muscle gain and fat loss, I love using jump ropes, body weights and being creative with exercise!

Fitness has been a part of my life longer than I can remember.  My family and I were always outside playing games, riding bikes, gardening, etc. and my appreciation and passion for fitness has only increased as I have grown.  I continued my love for fitness and athletics through college with a fitness degree and competing in Track & Field at UW-Eau Claire.  Today, I continue to stay active by spending time outdoors hiking and biking with friends and family.  Success comes from within and I am here to help you reach your full potential.

Let’s make this year a healthy one 🙂

It is my belief that workouts should be fun, as well as challenging and productive.

As of 10 years ago, due to poor lifestyle choices, I was 280 lbs with chronic plantar fasciitis.  Making the decision to begin exercising has led me on a path of passion for a healthier lifestyle.  This passion increasingly and consistently allows me to enjoy life with a happy and positive attitude!

I would be honored to guide, mentor, and motivate you in achieving the same!  Whether we need to make small changes to your fitness routine, create a completely new workout regimen, or begin the first step to a healthier lifestyle.

Let’s discuss your fitness goals, and the lifestyle adjustments that I can assist you in making for a happier and healthier you!

Sports have been a big part of my life since I was about 5 years old. I had the privilege to play multiple sports until I decided soccer and basketball were my two favorites. I was short and skinny which was not a great combination for sports (especially basketball). Once I started doing proper weight lifting, I saw improvements in my athleticism (as well as larger muscles too). I realized that weight training could take my strengths to greater heights while also improving my athletic/genetic shortcomings. This is why I chose to become a personal trainer. As a personal trainer, I can help guide you to achieve your personalized goals. No two people are the same and that’s what makes personal training fun and dynamic.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing soccer, basketball, and exercising here in the YMCA Wellness Center. I am also a Junior High Soccer Coach at La Crescent High School during the fall season.

I grew up with 5 brothers, so one could say that my fitness journey began competing with them.

I have always enjoyed sports, and as a 3 sport athlete I never had to think about “fitness” – it was just a part of my life.  After graduation from college, I had extra time and money, so it was easy to stay active mountain biking, kayaking, etc.  Then I got married and started having kids…1, 2,…6!  As a busy Mom of 6, I had to make more of a deliberate effort to set aside time and money for my health.  I have learned from my own personal trainer that fitness can be effective, efficient and fun!  I have been a coach of various sports over the years, a phy-ed teacher, and now a group fitness instructor and personal trainer at the Y.  I am excited to work with members of all abilities to achieve their fitness goals – helping you move better and live your life to the fullest!
