The Power of Connection

October Mental Health
October 2, 2025

Connecting with other people is one of the most important things we can do to care for our mental health. Whether it’s sharing a laugh, talking through a challenge, or simply being present with someone we care about, these moments help lift our mood and build resilience. Connection reminds us we’re not alone, and that we all have circles of support to both lean on and give back to.

Connection starts in simple ways—being present in the moment, putting down our phones, and really listening to others. Whether it’s spending time with loved ones, joining a “third place” outside of work and home, or giving back to our community, these moments strengthen both individual well-being and the bonds that hold us together. Peer support, sharing experiences, and knowing “who’s in your circle” all remind us that we don’t have to carry life alone.

As we approach World Mental Health Day on October 10, 2025, it’s a good time to reflect on the connections in our lives. Who do you lean on, and who leans on you? By choosing to connect—with kindness, presence, and love—we not only care for our own mental health, but we help build stronger, more resilient communities.
