Be Empathetic: The Power of Truly Seeing One Another

Empathy is the ability to truly understand and share in what someone else is feeling—to pause long enough to see the world through their eyes. It looks like listening without interrupting, validating someone’s experience instead of fixing it, and choosing curiosity over judgment. Empathy is a powerful mental health tool because it strengthens connection, reduces isolation, and reminds us we are not alone in what we carry. In our Be series, being empathetic is about how we show up—present, open, and willing to notice. When we slow down and lead with empathy, we create space for belonging, for ourselves and for others.
