Annual Special Events

It’s time to hop on a bike and make a difference! Pedal for a Purpose is a team cycling event raising funds to benefit our Y cancer survivorship programming, LIVESTRONG, and YOUTHSTRONG.

An annual themed fundraiser that brings together friends of the Y to celebrate the great work of the people and programs.  Guests can anticipate an over-the-top cocktail and hors d’oeuvre reception with decor and games, followed by a program featuring stories of the Y’s influence within the community. This event raises over $200,000 annually for the annual campaign.

Children ages 3-10 will have the opportunity to swim in the pool, bike down Mason Street and run across fields behind the Y in this beginner-friendly event. All of the proceeds from the event directly support the Y’s Annual Campaign. The Annual Campaign helps support several programs at our local YMCA including our Financial Assistance Program that helps subsidize Y membership and program costs for people in our community and our LIVESTRONG program that helps over 100 cancer survivors annually regain their strength and confidence after treatment.

Join us for the Annual Maple Leaf Walk Run to help benefit the Y's Food Program. Our tried and true events include a half marathon, 5 Mile and 5K that start and end in beautiful Riverside Park and run through part of the iconic Oktoberfest parade route. After the race, join us for a sweet treat.

Start a new tradition this Thanksgiving Day! The Festival Foods Turkey Trot allows participants to partake in either the untimed 2-Mile Walk, 2-Mile Fun Run, or the timed 5-Mile Run, and is open to everyone of all ages and abilities. Race proceeds benefit the La Crosse YMCA and Boys and Girls Club.
